Testimonials
From Parents & Students
“Both our teens worked with Sally and thrived as a result. Her process helped our children refine their goals for the kind of campus that would best fit who they are. Sally’s essay coaching and help with application scheduling took the stress out of what could have been a very fraught period for our kids. Our oldest ended up at a school that seems to have been designed for him, and our youngest is waiting to hear from exciting, intriguing schools that she had no idea existed until embarking on this journey with Sally. Both kids learned much about themselves through the process, and Sally was key to unlocking it all in a gentle and respectful way. We love Sally!”
“Coming into the college process I was completely overwhelmed. Sally helped me to figure out what I valued in a college and which colleges could offer me the things I needed to be successful. She provided the expertise needed to break down the application process and approach each step carefully and effectively. Through her advising I felt confident in my work and supported in the process in general.”
“Sally guided our family through our first experience of college application in the US. She not only explained to us mechanics of the application process, but was a crucial bridge for parent and student conversations. Sally brought perspective and empathy to the discussion that was earnest and not pushy. She keeps the student at the center of her recommendations. This comes through quickly as she was very credible and genuine for our student from the start. With that trust, Sally was able to explore ideas and options and move conversations, so that when college application time rolled around, we were in a good place as a family.”
“Sally’s hands on approach of advising made me feel very comfortable during the college process. She met with me in person on the first day of working with her and outlined a timeline as well as helped me visualize topics I could write about for my college essays. Without her I could not have finished all of my applications on time and would have probably taken a year off to reapply. She was instrumental to the whole process. She always responded to my emails quickly and gave me the best advice. She is kind, helpful, understanding and took the time to get to know me, making me feel comfortable opening up to her. Most advisors I have talked to push you to make safe decisions and tell you not to apply to places that they think may be out of reach. Sally of course warned me of how competitive the schools and programs I was applying for were, and made sure to outline backups for me in case I didn’t get in, but believed in me and helped me do what some may have thought was impossible. I was admitted to Stanford, USC for film and most of the UC’s. Eventually I chose my dream school for cinema, USC. I think when picking a college advisor, picking someone who believes in their students, listens to them and will passionately fight for their dreams is the best characteristic that you can ask for. Sally is now a great friend and I am so thankful for everything she did for me.”
